Preparation for Vic-Maui 2008 is Underway
Your Committees from the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and the Lahaina Yacht Club have been preparing for the 2008 race since September 2006. Come and enjoy a fun filled week of pre-race activities in Victoria, the Capital City of British Columbia and one of the most beautiful harbours in the world. From there we give you a rare ocean race that takes both flat out racing skills and strategic decision-making. The determination of the location of the Pacific High will lead you to the strategic decision of when to turn right, haul on those spinnaker halyards and lay back and enjoy. Don't worry if you are not a flat out racer, many of our participants come along for the experience and enjoyment of the trip. It's 2308 nautical miles of dolphins, whales and albatross, of companionship, teamwork, and self-discovery with the flower scented Trade Winds of the Blue Pacific always moving you on to balmy nights and palm trees. On arrival in paradise, Lahaina Harbour, Maui, you will be greeted with mai tais by your soon to be new friends and your awaiting loved ones.
